Grape press

The galeagra or stone press has been used since ancient times for pressing grapes or grape clusters. It consisted of stone or was carved in stone and had a circular channel with a hydrant on one side and two square holes on either side of the channel for fixing the wood of the compression mechanism. The squeezing mechanism had a wooden screw that, as it rotated, squeezed the grapes.
